About SOS

Hi, I’m Jon. Here’s why I started this site.

For the last three years, I have been working as a marketer for a web design company and moonlighting as venue and bar security. Because of the current restaurant, bar, and entertainment furloughs and layoffs, many of my colleagues are now out of a job.

I created SaveOurService.org as a virtual tip jar. Industry workers can fill out a form and see their name populated on this website within 48 hours. You can find entries by State and City, business name, job type, at random or by popular demand. Each worker listing comes with a link to a Moneyyy.me account that includes direct pay buttons to PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp. Sometimes, only the direct PayPal or Venmo link is available.

Unlike a random city’s virtual tip jar, SaveOurService.org is optimized for widespread, mobile use. We didn’t post en entire spreadsheet for you to navigate. With a national reach, the goal is to combine resources and let the public be aware of their local service industry workers and help them out if they can.

While I am also sharing this with news outlets and on social media, it’s important for everyone to get the word out!

There is one thing you won’t find on this site — a button or link to anything asking for financial support. I created this site to make YOU money, not the other way around. If you can spare some time, though, take a peak at my blog. My mom says it’s funny.
