About SOS

Hi, I’m Jon. Here’s why I started this site.

For the last three years, I have been working as a marketer for a web design company and moonlighting as venue and bar security. Because of the current restaurant, bar, and entertainment furloughs and layoffs, many of my colleagues are now out of a job.

I created SaveOurService.org as a virtual tip jar. Industry workers can fill out a form and see their name populated on this website within 24 hours. You can find entries by State and City, business name, or job type. Besides the search functions, each worker listing comes with a link to a Moneyyy.me account which typically includes the worker’s PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp pay buttons.

Unlike other cities’ virtual tip jars, SaveOurService.org is optimized for mobile instead of posting an entire spreadsheet. The hope is to have the general public also be aware of the site, so they may find their local service industry workers and help them out a bit.

I am sharing this with news outlets and on social media, so get the word out!

There is one thing you won’t find on this site — a button or link to anything asking for financial support. I created this site to make YOU money, not the other way around. If you can spare some time, though, take a peak at my blog. My mom says it’s funny.
